F.A.Q.

How does it work and what is the SW application WEEKLY CHANNEL LOGGER or QoS

The SW application WEEKLY CHANNEL LOGGER (option supplied in the ROVER HD series) is a useful tool to monitor and record over time (from 30 minutes to one week) the trend of the main parameters of receiving a digital signal: TV, Cable, Satellite, Radio or FM (DAB op. did not on all models), practically record the Quality of Service (QoS).

This application is especially suitable for reception problems that occur occasionally. The
application allows you to measure, store and display on the instrument ; (locally or remotely*)
the parameters course of the digital signals under test:

  • DVB-S/T/C = Power, MER, ERROR, bBer, aBer;
  • DVB-S2/T2/C2 = Power, MER, ERROR, aBer, Lber, PER, Ldcp.

* For remote control reading need a LAN or a GPRS/UMTS optional.

Each parameter recorded, is graphically represented on the display with different colors,
so that you can easily identify, see Figure 1. You can choose the time interval of monitoring the received signal by selecting, from a minimum of 30 minutes, to a week (168 h).

Note: On some models of HD series, the recording made (LOGGER file) can be saved directly to the memory of the instrument, or exported to a USB memory stick into a file “csv” format. The LOGGER file saved, they can be analyzed later in a spreadsheet for processing, statistics or graphs.
