2. WHAT IS THE S.M.A.R.T. PROGRAM?

The S.M.A.R.T. program is used to connect your ROVER meter to a PC.  It must be installed in the PC in order to carry out software and/or memory upgrades in your meter.

The S.M.A.R.T. can be downloaded free of charge from the "Service and support" area of the website, in the area "SW updates" in the blue menu on the left.

You can only access this area after you have REGISTERED (see FAQ 1).

There are two versions of the S.M.A.R.T. program:  Standard and Pro.

The S.M.A.R.T. program automatically becomes Standard after 30 days of use.  To activate the Pro version of the program, contact ROVER's Service department to ask for a license.

The standard S.M.A.R.T. program allows you to update the software in your meter.

The Pro version also allows you to edit the memory plans in your meter.

For more information about the S.M.A.R.T. program, download the S.M.A.R.T. User guide in the "Service and Support" area, in "SW updates", in the blue menu on your left, after you have REGISTERED (see FAQ 1).

5. WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE BATTERIES IN MY METER?

If you have problems with battery duration, it is not necessary to replace the batteries in your meter, simply update its software!

These are the three most IMPORTANT rules for maximum BATTERY maintenance in ROVER meters:
    •    Always turn your meter off before connecting the battery charger.
    •    Do not leave the batteries discharged for long periods of time.
    •    Always charge your meter every night for at least 8/10 hours, even if the batteries are not completely discharged.

The batteries supplied are high quality, tested individually and guarantee a maximum autonomy according to the following conditions of use:
    •    The power consumption of single, dual or quadruple LNBs,
    •    The use of the “AUTO-OFF” timer, which automatically turns your meter off after 5 or 10 minutes of inactivity (saving up to 30%),
    •    The use of only one graphics display and turning off the TFT (only for dual display models), saving 30%,
    •    The life and efficiency of the batteries (a 10% reduction each year),
    •    The external temperature (the cold notably reduces battery capacity, 20% battery capacity is lost at less than 10°C).

The battery indicator tolerance can vary between  +/- 20% (like all battery powered electronic devices) according to the following factors:
    •    The load percentage of the battery,
    •    The external temperature and battery conditions of use.

For more detailed information regarding batteries in your meter, download the "BATTERY use and maintenance GUIDE", which can be downloaded from the "Service and support" area in the blue menu on your left, after you have REGISTERED (see FAQ 1).
